Primary framing types

CodeFrameUse
RCGRigid frame, clear span, gableColumn-free interior, two sloping sides to a ridge
RMGRigid frame, multi-span, gableInterior columns required, gable roof
RCMRigid frame, clear span, mono-slopeOne-way drainage, column-free interior
RMMRigid frame, multi-span, mono-slopeOne-way drainage with interior columns — cattle sheds, shops
LCSLean-to, clear spanAdds onto an existing building, no interior columns
LMSLean-to, multi-spanAdds onto an existing building, interior columns allowed
BCHBeam-to-column with headerMono-slope where a sidewall or interior column bears on a header beam, leaving a clear-span bay
Gable and mono-slope frames. Interior columns only when the code is M (multi-span).
Lean-to against an existing building. BCH when a column has to sit on a header.

Primary members are mill shapes — typically HSS or wide-flange columns and rafters — galvanized or shop-primed. No welded flange-web intersections in this system’s standard language. Wide-flange is A-36 Grade 50; tube is ASTM 500 Grade B. Shop primer 1.5–3.0 mil, bronze oxide or red oxide. HD galvanized is optional.

WF Grade 50, HSS ASTM 500 Gr. B. Primer 1.5–3.0 mil. HD galvanized optional.

Covering (summary)

  • AHR: 36″ coverage, 1¼″ ribs @ 12″ o.c., 26 ga Galvalume ASTM A792, 80 ksi, ½:12 min roof pitch.
  • ALR: 36″ coverage, ¾″ ribs @ 9″ o.c., two minor ribs, 26 or 29 ga, 2:12 minimum roof pitch.
  • Polycarbonate daylight panels (MR9 / MR12 / Greca) where the order shows them.
  • Closures: closed-cell PE foam matching the panel.
ALR ¾″ @ 9″ o.c. · AHR 1¼″ @ 12″ o.c. · 36″ coverage. SMP paint, 26/29 ga Galvalume.

Colors

SMP paint system on 26 and 29 ga Galvalume. Arctic White is also offered in G90. Pewter Gray is trim-only. Colors on a screen are close — not a sample. Ask for a metal chip if the match matters.

Trim

AHR trim. Confirm every piece on the order — parapet and existing-building tie-in are not furnished.
Gutters and gable flash typically ship in 20′ lengths.
